I think I was drugged and raped. Is there medication or treatment so that I do not get AIDS?

You may want to talk to a nurse or doctor about your concerns. Statistically, it is unlikely that you will get HIV/AIDS from a sexual assault. If you are worried about getting HIV/AIDS, this is something you can discuss with a nurse or doctor at the Sexual Assault Care Centre. If there is reason to believe that you could be at risk, there is medication that might help prevent HIV/AIDS. HIV post exposure treatment should be started within a few hours of the assault. If you live in Ontario call the AIDS & Sexual Health InfoLine at 1-800-668-2437 for a list of places you could go for assistance.
